Woodbridge Village is a large housing development tract begun in 1975 by the Irvine Company. It covers roughly four square miles and is distinguished by two large man made lakes, North Lake and South Lake. Each of these lakes has a wooden bridge crossing it and thus where Woodbridge gets its name. Each lake has its own beach club and lagoon with boat rentals.
